"Following a full-house MUSIC IN ACTION CAREER DAY EVENT at Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts on May 5, I was facilitating a 2-day Niagara Falls High School, POWER OF ONE studentVoices retreat at Peak n' Peek resort on May 8/9 and, sitting in my room, reflecting that our Buffalo & Niagara Falls students really wanted to do something more to make a difference. At that moment the Executive Director of the FOOD BANK OF WESTERN NEW YORK came on the news and defined the growing need and I got the whole image of the "tunes4food" launch event. With the support of the BUFFALO MUSIC HALL OF FAME & Sue Gonzoles (Buffalo City Hall, special events office) - it became real on June 22/23, 2009.
